We wrapped up the So. Cal. Golf Show this past weekend and given the f***ed up situation of our economy these days, it was actually quite a successful show for us. The attendance was definitely down for the entire event but we had a steady crowd at the Tattoo Golf booth so we're thankful for that! Thanks to all our old friends who stopped by to say hello. A few shots below from the show.
Our buddy Rene who works at the shows but always sports Tattoo Golf Clothing from head to toe!!
Here's another Tattoo Golf customer who tattooed our logo on his arm - need to start collecting a royalty or something for these!!! I think this is the 7th or 8th person to get this tattoo

Southern California Golf Show - Day 1
The Tattoo Golf team is out in Pomona CA this weekend at the So. Cal Golf Show so if you're in the neighborhood, stop on in & say hello. We love doing these golf shows because it gives us a chance to hang out with fellow golf freaks & talk about golf for 8 hours a day! We've been doing these shows for a few years now & have made some good friends with some of the other vendors so it's always fun to see them & catch up on things. Check out this shot of the newly expanded Tattoo Golf booth -we've gone double wide!!

Tiger Woods Returns to Torry Pines
I'm not into caddies & would rather play my own game without having someone hover over me watching, secretly mocking each stroke but I would have gladly made an exception & trade places with 59 year old John Abel. Abel was the winner of the "Tee Off With Tiger" contest hosted by Buick during this past U.S. Open & he got the services of Caddie Tiger for the back 9 nine of the South Course! How sweet (and nerve shattering) would that be to have Tiger caddy for you?? I just can't help imagining if I'd won this contest (I did enter) & then show up fully decked out in Tattoo Golf gear, how fun would that be!? Now that would be a priceless photo.
Tiger drove the cart, handed Abel clubs & helped read putts while wearing a caddies bib with John Abel's name on it. If that alone wouldn't be nerve-racking enough, the entire round was captured on video & reporters & other media were allowed to watch the 10th & 18th hole action.
Tiger reminisced with Abel about his victory only 4 months ago and he said to reporters that he felt fine & was able to hit chip shots & hopes to start hitting longer clubs at the beginning of the year. Obviously he'd like to come back to defend at the Buick in early February but he said he's not sure if that's a realistic goal or not. He's won it 4 years in a row so I'm guessing he'll do whatever it takes to get ready.

Tournament Update
Well the Junior / Senior tourney didn't go as well as I was hoping it would - came in second to last! My partner was a 78 year old guy with a 24 handicap but seemed to be playing to a 44 & I wasn't much help so together we limped in with a net even par. With all the strokes we got between us, we couldn't get under par & believe me, it was a struggle just to maintain par.
But the bottom line is that it was a beautiful 80 degree day of golf in sunny So. Cal!! Can't beat that.

Tournament Life
The slacker blogger is back & going to try to keep current this time around! Last months tournament at my club was a disaster for me - I felt like the Dodgers must feel right now - so close & yet so far! It was the Club Championship & the event was broken into 4 flights. The A flight were playing scratch & the winner here would become the overall club champion. Unfortunately my game is nowhere near this level so I was in flight D! All flight winners received sweet trophies which I desperately wanted. I won my first 3 matches so on the last Sunday of the 2 weekend tournament I faced off against an old timer with a 36 handicap! All flights except A play net golf so I'm giving him 9 strokes. I played beautifully for the 1st 3 rounds & far below my handicap but in the final round I played like a jackass. Spraying balls all over the place while the old timer just keep punching it up the middle of the fairway. I was 5 down at one point but got it down to 2 w/ 2 to play. 17th hole & I'm on the green so just need a 2 putt to win the hole. While I'm normally a great putter, this one I blew by 15 feet (to my defense, it was a 50 footer). Missed the comebacker & lost it right then & there. I thought the Tattoo Golf attire would intimidate the old man but I guess not!! Oh well, it's probably the old timer's last major tourney & I've got another 40 years in me - I hope!
This Saturday is the Junior/Senior 1 day tourney so will report back next week. Got to
