Tattoo Golf Brings Home the Hardware

When we're not toiling away hear at TG HQ, working to bring you the latest and greatest golf apparel, we do like to get out and play some competitive golf at the clubs around our part of town.   I mentioned before that I won the Chairman's Cup match play tournament at local course near Pasadena CA and yesterday was the trophy ceremony.   I was supposed to be watching my daughter at her swim meet and was going to bail on the trophy ceremony but the men's club president said my presence was needed as this was going to be special.   There's an old-timer there who they were honoring by re-naming the trophy after him and I was going to be the first recipient so I had to be there!   His name is "Sweet" Lou Falco and yours truly is the inaugural winner of the match play tournament.   Note the awesome Clubhouse golf shirt and hat!

Looks good with just one name on there!

Important note - just because you wear a Tattoo Golf shirt or a TG golf hat, it doesn't mean that you will win your tournament but it doesn't hurt!   Plus you look so damn good!

Tattoo Golf is Victorious!

Greg here.   I beat my female opponent in the "Men's" club at my local golf course which had put me into the finals and this past Friday I went head-to-head with a much better golfer - thank God for handicaps!!   This guy was giving me 8 strokes but that still didn't seem enough considering that I'm playing him straight up on the other 10 holes!  It was a close match but I was 1 up going into the 18th and I ended up making a par 5 for net bird which slammed the door and I walked off the green as the 2013 Chairman's Cup Champion!   Still can't believe I made it.

Tattoo Golf Match Play Update

When not working tirelessly to bring you some of the coolest golf gear on the planet we love getting out and playing a few rounds and we especially love playing in match play format tournaments!  Bill and I (Greg) own the place and right now we are both in the midst of our clubs' match play championships.  Bill just won his match at his course to reach the final four so congrats on that.   I just won my semi-final round, 1-0, on Saturday to advance to the finals so very excited about that!

I had the added pressure of playing a woman who had obviously beaten 3 previous opponents to reach the semis so she was a solid player.   We battled back and forth with her going up 2 on the front 9 and then I coming back to 2 up with 6 to play.   She took a hole from me on 14 so now I'm one up.  We pushed 15, pushed 16 and then I put my approach shot to 2 feet on 17 for birdie.   Just knock it in and we're done but I pulled the putt and almost died!  Now we have to go to the 18th where she gets a 40 yd advantage by playing from the women's tee box and my nerves are shot because I should have had the damn thing won already.   Luckily we pushed and I won the match.

Tattoo Golf Amateur Tour Update

This just in from our Tour Director Chad Morrison reporting from the OKC.

I want to thank everyone for coming out and playing on Saturday! I think we had three out of four seasons in one day! I want to congratulate Dell Wilson, our only Tulsa winner, back to the winners circle in the Bravo Flight. Dustin Hopson, who made the trip from Oklahoma City may have had an advantage by playing in the morning, but was able to capitilize and take home the WIN! And....Scott Word, from Oklahoma City was able to win again in the Delta Flight. And finally tour rookie Jim Swinger made the trip from Missouri to capture our Echo Flight.

Congratulations to Randy Scott and Tony Acree for winning $100 each off their Entry Fee to the World Amateur in Myrtle Beach.
